Cedar Point announces new waterslides, relocated and renovated restaurants for 2025

SANDUSKY, Ohio – The debut of Siren’s Curse and the relaunch of Top Thrill 2 are expected to generate the most excitement from Cedar Point fans this year.

But the park has a few other new features in store for visitors this spring:

  • Two new tube slides will make their debut at Cedar Point Shores Waterpark when it opens for the season on May 24. The new slides, located on the park’s former “Crosscurrent” tower, feature a multi-colored twisted layout. Visitors must be 48 inches tall to ride.

  • Famous Dave’s Restaurant is moving from the Cedar Point Marina to Cedar Point’s Castaway Bay Resort and will be open year-round. The barbecue restaurant replaces Quaker Steak & Lube at the indoor waterpark resort. Famous Dave’s is expected to open in early May.

  • The Happy Friar, located in the Gemini Midway, is expanding and will feature a new indoor serving line to provide improved traffic flow and faster guest service. The eatery is home to Cedar Point’s famous fresh-cut French fries.

The park also announced several new entertainment options for 2025, including “Rock This Way,” a classic rock show at the Red Garter Saloon and “Country Crossroads – Live at the Palace,” at Frontier Town’s Palace Theatre.

Also new: Main Gate Photo Station, featuring a 9-foot-by-14 foot Cedar Point sign located in front of the Midway Carousel inside the park entrance.

The additions were announced Saturday at the park’s annual Winter Chill Out event, which raised more than $120,000 for A Kid Again, a charity that provides adventures for children with life-threatening conditions.

Attendees also got to see the new lead car for the trains on Siren’s Curse, the new “tilt” roller coaster that is under construction in the center of the park. The coaster’s signature element is a 61-foot-long piece of track that shifts (“tilts”) 90 degrees, holding riders vertical for as long as 10 seconds as they look straight down. It is expected to debut in early summer.

In addition to Siren’s Curse, Top Thrill 2 is expected to debut (again) this spring after being closed for most of 2024. The ride, a remake of Top Thrill Dragster, was shut down after only a week of operation last year.

Zamperla, the ride’s Italian manufacturer, has been making modifications to the ride’s trains. It is expected to be operational when the park opens for the season on May 3.
